The new anti-dandruff ingredient.

Zinc Pyrithione classified as prohibited substance.

Rotterdam - The Netherlands (April 14, 2022) - With effect from March 1, 2022, the European Commission added several chemicals to the list of prohibited substances for Annex I and Annex VI (Commission Delegated Regulation 2020/1182). One of the substances that has been added to aforementioned list is the toxic substance Zinc Pyrithione (“ZP”). As a result it is prohibited to use ZP in all EU materials, whether cosmetic or industrial, due to its reproductive toxicity.

For over 60 years ZP has been used as an effective anti-dandruff agent in shampoos. Now this is no longer permitted, many people will lose their favorite product to treat their skin against dandruff.

Both the Tape method as well as the Cultivation method have been the applied means to determine the efficacy of the product containing the Parx Materials technology. Image is an example from the trial.
